Project
and Architecture Audit is the process of collecting and evaluating evidence
to determine whether a project has been carried out or architecture has
been designed to maintain data integrity, safeguard assets, allows business
objectives to be achieved effectively and uses resources efficiently.
Project audits will have different goals depending on the project phase
they take place. Progress audits will provide evidence if the project
is on track and allows to take corrective action where required. On the
other hand, post implementation project audits allows retrospective analysis
of the development process, verification of initial project objectives,
the planning of enhancements to the system, and the assessment of key
learnings for future projects.
Integration of application and security become more and more a key factor
for reliable and efficient IT infrastructure. An Architecture Audit will
analyse the present hard- and software-architecture for fulfilment of
its purpose and its fitness for the future.
An audit culture within a company will improve communication between stakeholders
of IT related projects and services. Processes will become transparent
and allow for improvements.
